Hello there, I am Marvin and welcome to my page. I am a concept artist passionate about bringing inventive ideas and stories to a working design. Capable of working in a team, and accustomed to performing in dead-line driven environments. Well-versed at Industry workflow, and flexible at matching the project's art style.
Industry Experience
I have worked from freelance designing top-down maps to working for a studio with a wonderful team creating locations for the Blacktalon Warhammer show.
Concept/Production Design Artist at M2 Animation
March - June 2024 (4 Months)
Worked on an upcoming Warhammer Age of Sigmar 3D animation project.
+ Worked under the Art Director creating conceptual environmental set pieces of locations withing the Age of Sigmar
universe and production design of assets in the environments to be used as a guide for the 3D modellers.
Designs I mostly worked on are cities, such as buildings, big unique structures, and indoor rooms
Location Artist for Blacktalon Warhammer at M2 Animation
June 2022 - May 2023 (1 Year)
Working as part of the Blacktalon project in M2 Animation Bangkok.
+ Designed and lineart backgrounds used in animation scene, using pre-existing concepts and locations
from the Warhammer universe and the Blacktalon team.
+ Painted backgrounds to be used as concept or directly on the scence.
+ Designed several props to be used as concept or directly on scene.
+ Assisted in fixing scene backgrounds through painting/redesigns.
Freelance Concept/Level Design Artist at Crosshead Studio
February - September 2022 (8 Months)
+ Developed and designed props and assets for a DnD style game map used in map maker software
Dungeondraft.
+ Produced lineart of props for various fantasy/medieval inspired setting and themes from a topdown view
ranging from furnitures to vegetations, and from architectural buildings to terrains.
Education
I discovered my passion for design when I was doing my final year mechatronics project creating a prosthetic robotic hand with my classmate. Then after graduation I went straight to FZD (Feng Zhu Design) with my inkling for design and problem solving, and my love for games and film, to venture into the world of industrial design in the entertainment industry.
